This 4 day Classic Infinite Vistas Adventure Package affords just the right combination of relaxation and adventure on your Botswana holiday. Enjoy warm and friendly service at the bush camp on a private reserve where you are welcomed as one of the family and dinners are taken together.
This eco-friendly bush camp focuses on sustainable tourism and strives to give all visitors a real insight into life in the Kalahari Desert. You will have the opportunity to interact on a personal level with the local San Bushmen. Cultural interaction includes experiencing their way of life and learning about bush craft such as identifying medicinal and edible desert plants and roots.
You can also track Rhinos on foot accompanied by a San guide. The private game reserve is considered to be one of the most successful White Rhino breeding areas in Botswana. Back at camp, many antelope species can be seen around the pan in front of the camp and you can enjoy various birding walks. On game drives you could see a variety of desert species including Brown Hyenas, Mongooses, Meerkats, Squirrels, Aardvarks and different desert antelope.
Day 1: Johannesburg – Maun – Central Kalahari
From Johannesburg you will take a scheduled flight in the morning to Maun Airport in Botswana. A road transfer takes you on a 3 hour drive to your bush camp in the Central Kalahari, which is located on a private game reserve covering 120 000 hectares. On arrival, you will be welcomed and given a tour of the facilities.
At this intimate bush camp, your tented accommodation on a raised platform is set around a large rocky pan which is part of an ancient river system. There will be time to refresh before the game viewing activity in the afternoon. In the evening you can enjoy the magnificent Kalahari sunset and watch any game at the pan before dinner with your hosts.
Day 2 & 3: Central Kalahari
The next 2 days of your Botswana safari offer many exciting experiences. You and your guide will plan your days together around a wide range of activities such as Rhino tracking, guided walks with San guides as well as game and sunset drives in 4x4 vehicles.
A very special part of your Botswana holiday will be to meet with descendants of a truly ancient culture – the San (Bushmen). You are welcome to join the women and children every morning when they go out to collect a range of medicinal and edible plants.
Rhino tracking with a San guide is an amazing highlight. The San Bushmen will locate some fresh tracks and then lead you on foot through the bush and scrub while you follow his calls and hand signals, so as not to startle the Rhino.
You can also enjoy a heart warming experience and visit the local orphanage which is located on the reserve. Back in camp on your Botswana safari, you can relax at the pool or watch game coming down to the pan to drink in safety, uninterrupted by predators. You could see hundreds of Kudu, Impala, Springbok and many more varieties of wildlife.
Day 4: Central Kalahari – Maun – Johannesburg
This is the final day of your Kalahari Adventure Package. There will be time for an early morning game activity and breakfast before you say your goodbyes. You will be transferred by road back to Maun, where you catch your return flight to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport with arrival in the late afternoon.
