The main boma (thatched enclosure) at Haina Kalahari Lodge consists of a lounge, dining room and a well appointed wood and thatch bar area adjacent to the waterhole. From here guests can watch the animals that come to the water to drink throughout the day. The salt water pool and wooden sun deck are favourite spots for refreshing dips and delicious al fresco meals.
Animals that can be seen on safari at Haina include Africa’s big cats. Apart from very vocal Lion prides in the reserve there are also Leopard and Cheetah that move through the area. Antelope species such as Gemsbok, Blue Wildebeest, Eland and Kudu are plentiful. Guests may also see Wild Dog as well as Brown and Spotted Hyena. Over 250 bird species have been identified, including migrating species.
