The guided bush walks, with a professional guide and Bushman tracker are a great way to learn about animal tracking and the Kalahari vegetation. Haina Kalahari Lodge is close to an ancient site of the Bushmen people who first lived in the area some 6 000 years ago. Guests can interact with the Bushmen on the reserve and get insight into their nomadic way of life.
A novel way to explore the green landscapes around Haina is on a quad bike. Guests can discover the natural beauty of the reserve whilst enjoying the freedom of these bikes. For excursions into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the lodge can arrange a full day outing with a picnic to the great fossil river of Deception Valley. The pan is well known for great game viewing and guests will be taken to the original campsite of the authors of “Cry of the Kalahari”.
